Large ENT and Ophthalmology facility in New York is seeking an Assistant Director of Medical Records. Primary responsibilities include the direct supervision of the coding staff and the management of processes related to the coding function indexing, abstracting, coding, research, including, but not limited to training, systems evaluation and trouble shooting, staff selection, policy development, and work with other departments toward problem resolution and/or process improvements. The position will also collaborate with the Director in managing the provision of medical record services to ensure policies, procedures, standards and departmental objectives are met. Qualifications include: must be knowledgeable in the following functions: record completion, transcription, file maintenance; Bachelors degree preferred; 3 years prior experience in a lead or management position in a Medical Records department, plus 5 years hospital based coding; demonstrated expertise in IC9-CPT coding and APC/APG methodologies, case mix index, reimbursement regulations; knowledge of clinical databases and data reporting requirements. Salary is around $80-$85K depending on experience. Full benefits.
