| Large New York health agency is seeking a Doctor of Medicine or equivalent to serve as Medical Director to coordinate the agencys emergency preparedness and response activities to ensure the public health in emergency events. The agencys department is comprised of units involved in the planning, training, operations, grant management, administration, evaluation and countermeasures and response. The position is responsible for leading the planning and development of medical field response capability during an emergency incident response with a particular focus on mass prophylaxis of the public; the Medical Director will serve as Chief of the agencys medical/clinical section, comprised of nearly 3,000 staff. In this capacity, the incumbent will lead the agencys medical field response during public health emergencies; develop medical/clinical agency-wide operations plans; develop standard operating procedures; develop and conduct training for staff; design and conduct medical/clinical emergency exercises. Qualifications include: Doctor of Medicine or equivalent; a valid license to practice in the State of NY, plus valid board certification in General Preventive Medicine or Public Health, or a closely related field; 4 years of medical practice including 1 year of experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity; experience in project management, emergency preparedness planning and response; ability to multitask, evaluate and manage program operations; collaborative leadership skills.
