The successful candidate will need to plan, organize, and evaluate the provision of services in the department. The individual will participate in and supervise the delivery of patient care and set standards of nursing practice for the service. The candidate will take a role in the achievement of departmental goals and hospital goals related to the department. The position requires the ability to adhere to hospital policies and accreditation standards. Position requires 5-10 years of experience. The position requires 2 years management experience in surgical services and 5 years experiences as an OR nurse with scrub and circulating experience. Salary 87k to 124K based on experience. | Med/Surgery - Oncology RN job in southern New York. This is a 43 bed medical/surgical unit designated as the inpatient medical oncology service. However, newly diagnosed diabetics, patients with lung problems and hematological disorders are also treated here. Approximately one half to two thirds of the patients are admitted needing chemotherapy, radiation therapy or assistance with pain control. For some patients, care is designed to be curative while for others, such as Hospice patients, care is palliative. For all patients, the goal is to maximize each patients quality of life. 8-12 shifts. Shift Differentials - Evening: $2.25/hour, Night: 75/hour, Weekend: 3.25/hour-on top of the evening or night differential. Day shift is primarily 0700-1530.
