Med/Surgery - Oncology RN job in southern New York. This is a 43 bed medical/surgical unit designated as the inpatient medical oncology service. However, newly diagnosed diabetics, patients with lung problems and hematological disorders are also treated here. Approximately one half to two thirds of the patients are admitted needing chemotherapy, radiation therapy or assistance with pain control. For some patients, care is designed to be curative while for others, such as Hospice patients, care is palliative. For all patients, the goal is to maximize each patients quality of life. 8-12 shifts. Shift Differentials - Evening: $2.25/hour, Night: 75/hour, Weekend: 3.25/hour-on top of the evening or night differential. Day shift is primarily 0700-1530.
