This 700+ bed hospital seeks a HIM Operations Manager to be responsible for oversight of Clerical Areas (filing, incomplete records, etc.) approx. 20 FTEs. Supervises: MPI Coordinator, Primary Analysts, Secondary Analysts, Primary Re-Analysts, Assemblers, Lead Clerks, Clerks, and Transport staff. Job Summary: Strategically plans, supervises, and coordinates daily operations in assigned areas, and in conjunction with the clerical, coding, and transcription supervisors, provides timely and quality services reflective of department and organization and regulatory standards. Candidate needs to be a RHIT (preferably RHIA) with 5 years experience in similar role over clerical areas in medium to large teaching hospital. Strong accountability and follow-up. Experienced and comfortable working with medical staff (i.e., incomplete records, etc.). Demonstrated experience using performance monitoring/reporting techniques, team approach, mentoring staff (approx 20 FTEs). Opportunity to apply operational skills to a large teaching hospital's HIM department. Position responsible for 20 Clerical FTEs. 15 days PTO (add l 5 days on 5th year and then 8th year). Hardware/software used: McKesson (hospital's MIS). SoftMed (HIM Clerical Area software) and performance monitoring using dashboard performance monitoring software.

They currently have 2 CRNA. The CRNA work independently and call is 1:3. The hospital has 2 ORs. Offering $350K plus benefits and malpractice with loan repayment. Work 46 weeks with 6 weeks vacation. Located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia this town of 4,000 has a service area of 80K and is one hour from Abingdon and just 2 hours from Bristol and Kingsport, TN.
