hiring medical professionals

Listening and learning are core components in hiring medical professionals. You must remember that while you are interviewing the medical candidate, the candidate is simultaneously interviewing you. If you provide short, unprofessional or misleading responses to their questions, your chances of hiring medical professionals will be decreased.

Active Listening. You should be actively listening to everything that the medical candidate has to say and genuinely pay attention to what they are needing when hiring medical professionals. Turn off your cell phone, close your door, get out pen and paper, and keep your focus on what they have to say instead of becoming distracted.

75/25 rule. Ideally, when interviewing a medical professional, you want to have him or her talk 75 percent of the time. You can accomplish this and learn a tremendous amount about the medical candidates by preparing your questions in advance. If they are chatting with you about 75 percent of the time, this is conveying a message of interest and your chances of hiring medical professionals will be increased.

Be cordial. Do not interrupt them at anytime, you must let their conversation take its' course. Additionally, you do not want to overtly disagree or have the candidate take a defensive posture. Remain cordial and professional at all times when hiring medical professionals

Body Language. You can learn quite a bit from the medical professional's body language. Keeping aware of these nonverbal cues will enable you to "push" the points that are of interest without having to "pull" too much out of them. These cues will guide you into areas that you should keep your focus on instead of reinforcing areas that are little to no interest. When hiring medical professionals, always monitor the body language.
