When advertising your positions, you have many different healthcare recruitment media methods to choose from. The selection strategies vary depending upon the type of position that you are looking to fill, how soon you would like to fill it and the budget that you have allocated for your recruiting efforts. Diversifying your campaigns is the most effective way of generating results and will provide more exposure.
Newspapers. When advertising in newspapers, you must know what candidate that you are looking for and select the media based upon the position. A national or regional newspaper will be more expensive to advertise in and should be used to target harder to find candidates. A local paper is usually cheaper to list advertisements in and should be used to target easier to find candidates.
Magazines. Advertising in magazines is usually more expensive than newspapers but has a higher value to the audience. General Magazines are targeted to the masses and most likely will yield little to no responses for healthcare recruiting. Trade Journals are targeted to a specific audience and are usually more expensive to list your advertisement but will yield a better result.
Radio. Radio advertisements are more expensive than magazines and newspapers but can send a consistent message depending upon the audience that you are targeting. The costs associated with this medium vary depending upon the time slot (i.e. daytime), the production costs and the duration.
Television. The most expensive form of advertising is through television. Although advertising a position on television is not a wise choice, it could be effective if used to promote your company in areas that you are looking to recruit from or expand into.
Online. This is the fastest growing segment of advertising due to its broad reach and overall cost effectiveness. A typical advertisement online costs less then a position listed in the paper and usually will last longer, enable you to say more and easily target the right audience.
