Job Description Tennessee Trauma Surgery. This group would prefer fellowship trained, if not, would like them to be ATLS certified and board certified in General Surgery. General Surgery Procedures optional, but not required. Physicians currently see around 60-100 patients per month seen during peak season summer and 30-60 patients per month seen during winter. The hospital ER is currently undergoing a large renovation to accommodate the over 84,000 visits it saw last year, making is the busiest ER in the state. Once the renovation is complete, the ER will have 8 dedicated Trauma rooms, 42 monitored rooms, making a total of 62 rooms overall. There are 3 dedicated Trauma nurses. Typically our trauma surgeons see around 90% blunt and 10% penetrating trauma now.
