Job Description

BE/BC Internal Medicine physician needed in northeast New York to start as soon as possible. General Internal Medicine for all ages, due to current IMs no longer taking new patients, not enough IMs to support needs in community. Patient volume expected to be seen per day is approximately 20 to 30. We service 1 hospital in an area of 40,000 to 50,000. Call for new candidate coming in for weekend call for attached AND unattached patients is 1:7. Weekday call is 1:7. Physicians work out splitting shifts, etc. among themselves. Frequency of being called in is extremely low. ED docs will call and discuss the patient and admit on IMs behalf, unless IM prefers to come in. Hospital has exclusive contract with ED group for six physicians and four Physician Assistants. PAs work 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. shifts only peak hours with ED physician.
