Job Description

Medical Director needed near Granada, Mississippi for medical center. Reports directly to the president of group or his designee. Provides clinical and service-oriented leadership for the group. Represents the practice with hospital, attends medical staff and internal medicine staff meetings as available and appropriate. Oversees all clinical staff of practice. Is responsible for group quality assurance and improvement activities including the development of inpatient guidelines. Assures that physician coverage is present for all shifts. Assists with the recruitment of physicians and mid-level practitioners as needed. Stands in for practice manager as needed for issues related to hospital. Provides leadership to group medical staff to ensure daily submission of accurate billing and coding information. Assists in actively marketing the group to primary care and specialty physicians. Chairs monthly hospitalist staff meetings. Maintains a log of hours worked in the performance of duties listed above, work setting clinic, hospital, etc. 12 hour shifts, usually 1 week on/1 off, # of physicians and mid-level practitioners currently at the facility and/or department, paid relocation expenses - paid interview expenses - paid signing bonus. Compensation 160 to 210 with bonus to 15k-25.
