Job Description BC/BE General Surgeon with sub-specialty in Cardiovascular, Thoracic needed in southeastern Georgia. Need because of growth of practice and lack of general surgeons and sub-specialist in primary and secondary market. Compensation/Salary - Depends on sub-specialty. Our sub-specialty preference would be vascular and/or thoracic. Partnership track, join existing group of 3, 2 general surgeons and 1 general/breast surgeon. Additional option would be to just share overhead and call and not join the group. Call schedule for group: 1-4. Unassigned Call: 1-4. Hours: Monday-Friday 4 and a half hour days, hours vary. Hospital Consults: 4-5. Procedures: 470 per year. Procedures required for this position: All general surgery procedures. Must be able to do most procedures laproscopically. Colonoscopy, EGD preferred, but not required. Two physician partners and a 3rd sharing overhead and call. They are considered top-notch surgeons, good personalities and willing to work very hard. The two partners also practice at Candler County Hospital, 20 minutes away. They do not take after hours calls for that hospital, only consults. Practice includes a lab and x-ray on site and a minor procedure room, and privileges at 2 hospitals. The 220,000 service area features a diverse economic base including education, industry, agriculture, small business, and healthcare. 150 bed, $60 million hospital featuring a Womens Pavilion and an adjacent professional office building.
