Job Description

Internist needed for an Intensivist position in western Massachusetts. Medical center currently has a full time position for an intensivist, which provides 24/7 coverage for the critical care unit. The intensive care unit is a combined cardiac and medical unit, with 12 licensed beds, ten or eleven of which are in operation on a regular basis. The intensivists also oversee the medical care given in the intermediate care unit, which consists of 18 monitored beds. This unit will expand to 24 beds in the foreseeable future. There are three budgeted positions for intensivists. The Critical Care unit works on an closed model. The position available offers full time employment with benefits. The salary for a full time Intensivist is $225,000 per year; a complete benefit package with health, dental, life, disability and malpractice insurance is a part of the benefit package.
