Job Description Psychology job in Kansas. Psychologist needed for Traumatic Brain Injury Unit at military base located in attractive university town in northeastern Kansas. Physician will assist soldiers and their families in dealing with illness behavior and provides psycho-therapeutic interventions when indicated due to traumatic brain injuries. Physician to provide psychological assessments that involves conducting mental status evaluations; goal setting; intervention planning; counseling/psychotherapy; patient and staff education; providing recommendations for patient treatment programs; participating in Quality Improvement reviews; and input into program planning. Must have Doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association APA accredited program and must have completed an APA approved clinical psychology internship. A minimum of 2 years within the past 5 years in the practice of clinical psychology; preferably in a Government setting such as a DOD or Department of Veterans Affairs VAMTF and have provided clinical services to individuals, couples or groups in clinical psychotherapy services. Paid malpractice insurance. Salary starting at $193,440 with salary increasing 5% each year for 5 years, plus overtime.
