Job Description

Healthcare provider in PG County, MD seeks Dialysis RNs. RN is responsible for the safe provision of the Dialysis Treatment ordered, and for the safe administration of patient care as related to the service and is directly accountable to the physician sponsor, the Nurse Administrator, and upper management. Exercise clinical expertise in the performance of dialysis-related functions as defined. Rinses/primes/positions all appropriate equipment, attaches and installs all required tubing, prepares fluid delivery systems and fluid bath, calibrates and checks alarms, sets monitors, and performs system check as required. Assembles all necessary supplies and equipment at chair side. Performs appropriate biopsychosocial assessments as indicated prior to treatment and proceeds with the treatment based on such assessments and physicians orders. Inspects/assesses access sites. Obtains blood samples and other specimens as indicated by patient condition or as ordered. Initiates and discontinues dialysis utilizing an established access cannulate or internal access including the administration of intradermal anesthetic as needed. Administers intravenous fluids and medications. Assesses, makes judgments, and treats problem situations on dialysis related to bp, weight changes, access patency, dialysate composition, diffusion time and anticoagulation according to established protocols. Cleans/dresses access sites using appropriate technique. Maintains a safe environment for patients and staff by following infection control procedures. Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing A.D., B.S., or Diploma program. Current license as an RN for the state of Maryland. 1 yr. of exp. CPR cert. Must complete a specialized job-training program provided by the dialysis facility. Competitive hourly rate and benefits.
