Job Description

A Med/Surg Orthopedics Nurse Manager needed in beautiful east Texas. The candidate will provide leadership with responsibility for planning, directing and evaluating the patient care and services provided. The tasks and responsibilities include: managing personnel with designated goals and the provision of nursing care and services, managing the staff, evaluating effectiveness of care of patient outcomes, ensuring departmental compliance with regulatory and JCAHO requirements, monitoring and adhering to annual hospital budget, assisting staff in providing patient care and services as needed and following standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures. Candidate must have current RN license with bachelors degree, BLS certification, experience in leadership position, and a minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience in Med/Surg and/or Orthopedics. The Med/Surg Orthopedics unit has 31 beds with about 32 FTEs consisting of RNs, Patient Care Techs and Unit Clerks. There are 4 Asst. Nurse Mgrs and a unit-based Nurse Clinician.
