Work Experience
Masters Degree in Clinical Nursing Specialty, education, or related Med/Surg Advanced Practice Clinical Nursing required. Current California RN License. Current AHA or equivalent BLS certification. Working knowledge of health care practices, patient care equipment and products. Minimum of 4 years clinical experience in an acute care setting. Three to five years of related clinical experience in area of responsibility preferred. Hospice or palliative care experience preferred. 3-5 years of education or clinical specialist experience with increasing scope of responsibility preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

Job Description

Clinical Nurse Specialist/Clinical Practice Manager- Geriatrics and Med/Surg needed in California. Manages the clinical and educational resources and care standards for the geriatric and medical/surgical patient population. Possesses teaching ability, leadership ability, and high professional standards. Must be well organized, be able to set priorities, work independently and is an effective team member. Word processing skills required. Statistical/data management skills preferred. Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in providing care for patients in appropriate age groups: Pediatric through Geriatric. Ability to interact in a professional manner with administration, medical staff, and hospital personnel as well as external customers. Knowledge of regulatory processes required, JCAHO and Title 22.
