Work Experience
RN with a minimum of 2 years experience in a staff position for home health, and 3-5 years demonstrated successful direction of a hospital home health business with a minimum average daily census of 200 patients. Must who working knowledge for COP's both services, JCAHO both services and state guidelines; Must be able to manage care appropriate to the age of the patients; be able to assess data reflective of the patients status; ensure the department provides the services and care needed according to the departments policies and procedures, and demonstrates knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations; excellent skills as an educator and communicator.

Job Description

Hospital in southwestern Virginia is seeking a Director of Home Health/Hospice. This is a growing 200 bed department that serves two counties with a main office located in the hospital and an off-site satellite office. The Home Health area has 25 FTEs and the hospice 6 FTEs. The ideal candidate will assume responsibility for management and leadership of the department. The candidate should be a strong clinical and operational leader having direct experience in home care and hospice. The ability to lead and evaluate operations is key. Other responsibilities include: staff and public education; budgeting; personnel administration; setting up and implementing standards and policies; performance improvement process; regulatory compliance; and planning of programs and liaison activities with the community.
