RISK MANAGER needed for MEDICAL / HEALTHCARE LIABILITY INSURANCE COMPANY near SHREVEPORT:

We are seeking a local Regional Risk Manager for our Medical Malpractice Company. This MUST be an individual who lives in locally in the Shreveport area who has a clear understanding of what is involved in successfully reviewing and analyzing medical claims that contribute to our Risk Management (RM) plan. This opportunity is 100% Risk Management and we offer extensive training. The ideal candidate will be someone who is willing to learn, demonstrates excellent problem solving skills, absolutely is a good listener, and has good communication skills. This is NOT a hands on Nursing opportunity, however, the medical knowledge with a Nursing Degree is required and is invaluable for the success of this opportunity.



SALARY and BENEFITS:

$83,000 to $93,000 per year, based on experience, plus enjoy excellent benefits.



POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • You must have a Bachelors or Associate Degree in nursing.

  • RN License must be valid and in good standing with no restrictions.

  • Must have a minimum of 4 years' experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Risk Management or Quality Improvement or other healthcare related field.

  • Experience with analyzing, reviewing and processing Insurance claims (Medical Malpractice claims are desired).

  • ARM and/or CPHRM is a plus.

  • MUST reside in Shreveport, LA area or nearby surrounding areas.

  • MUST have knowledge of the medical community in the Shreveport or surrounding areas.



RN RISK MANAGER RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Conducts review and analysis of medical malpractice claims for insureds in assigned territory, as well as assessments for individual and group medical practices and healthcare facilities.

  • Provide insureds with loss prevention and loss control interventions.

  • Provide RM consultations to assigned physician practices including large physician groups and healthcare facilities.

  • Conduct telephone consultations.

  • Develop and present live and on line RM education seminars for physician practices including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nursing staff and medical office staff.

  • Conduct loss analysis for assigned territory based on internal and external data / information.

  • Evaluate territory loss and make comparisons to the book of business.
